Dear Annie,
A couple of years ago my dad pinned me down and started sucking on and kissing my neck. I screamed for him to stop but he wouldn't. He didn't go any farther than that though. I was wondering if that's considered molesting me? If not, what is what he did to me called? Thanks,

Girl
Dear Girl:
What your father did was not actual molestation but it is sexual abuse. Either way it was not right and illegal if you are or were under age 18.
You should tell your mother so that she knows what happened and so it never happens again.

Dear Annie:
I am a 16 year old girl and my mom tells me that my dad molested me when I was about 3 or 4 and my dad's side of the family tells me that my mom is lying to me? I don't know who should I belive my mom or my dad what should I do?

Confused
Dear Confused:
When someone molests a child, their families never believe it. They can’t imagine that their relative would do something so awful!
Moms would rarely make up a story like that. It’s possible if she is really angry with your dad, but unlikely. Do your mom and dad still live together?
I would sit down with your mom and ask her why she has told you this now? Was there a police report? Ask her exactly what happened.
If you have a close relationship with your mom and you are satisfied with all of her answers to your questions, then your mom should take you to see a therapist who specializes in child abuse. It’s important to work out your feelings about this.
If you need any more help please let Annie know.
